There are many types of wheelchair accessories on the market today designed to make travel more convenient and accessable. Here are three!

Threshold ramp

One such accessory is the threshold wheelchair ramp: a small, durable lightweight ramp designed for sliding glass doors, doorways and raised landings. These ramps are used to make entry and/or exit convenient and safe for wheelchair users, especially in the home.

Packs and totes

Other great accessories for the powerchair user are backpacks and
totes. With wheelchair packs you can carry or store personal items such as books and groceries. And most backpacks fit on the back of your chair, usually on the hand grips, Totes on the other hand, tend to sit under your seat, or attach to the chairs armrest.

Another option is an under seat storage net, allowing for storage space under the wheelchair seat, where normally there is none. There are many products that offer different spins on the same bag/ tote idea, so you should be able to find a style/make that suits your individual taste and needs.

Gloves

Gloves are another handy choice. Modified to prevent your hands from getting sore, gloves can help make it easier to push your chair. You will find that some gloves even include special types of gel, helping to keep your hands cool as well as absorb vibration.
