Scooter ramps - Portable ramps for van, home and
stairs
Scooter ramps are one of the most common ways to transport 3 and
4 wheel mobility scooters. These scooters aren't designed to disassemble
and so in order to travel with one you either need a ramp which enables
you to drive your scooter into the van or to buy an carrier. Van scooter
ramps are portable and brands include: Harmar, E-Z Access and Prarie View.
Cost for these type of ramps range from $300 to $1000. If you are looking
for a scooter ramp to use inside your home, there are a number of other
ramps available, (see below).
Types of Scooter ramps:
- Roll up - portable ramps for wheelchairs and scooters, designed
to roll up for easy carrying with storage bag
- Scooter - ramp has side rails and center panels that slide
easily into place, locking securely to provide a solid drive surface
- Suitcase - convenient and compact ramp, features a built-in
carrying handle and folds in half lengthwise to be carried like a suitcase
when not in use
- Telescopic channel - extends to be used on steps, vans, or
curbs. For storage, simply pick up each ramp rail and depress the guide
buttons to collapse; this ramp offers the lightest weight and most compact
storage
- Threshold - Designed for doorways, sliding glass doors, and
raised landings: allows for easier scooter movement within your home
